Hi, friends,

My name is Linh. I was born and raised in Hanoi, Vietnam in a family of musicians. Went to high school in India and college in the States, both on full-ride scholarships. Met my husband David by chance on the street of San Francisco. We have 3 kids: big sister Norah (artist, aspiring mom & clothes designer), little brother Ira (tbd on life aspirations, but probably building things), & another baby girl on the way! We live in the beautiful Colorado mountains (7000 ft above sea level!), where we bought our first home.

I run HackerNoon, an indie tech site with millions of readers around the world, from home, with my husband & a small team of people from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas (Our staff to writers ratio is 1 to 1428!) We publish tech stories from solo writers, big tech brands like Heroku & Google Cloud, and emerging startups alike. We build our platform 100% in house. We raised funds 3 times so far, but dilute very little. My husband and I proudly remain the majority shareholders of HackerNoon, and intend to keep the company running as a profitable entity with or without us.

I love Pixar movies like Inside Out & Coco, funny as shit comedy shows like The Office & the Good Place, romcoms with a twist like the Classic (Korean) & Bridesmaids, fitted cropped tops, bucket hats, rainy days, hiking, waking up with the sun, oversharing, and a lot of butter on my croissant. Some causes I care about include: transgender rights & LGBTQ rights (I self-identify as bisexual), motherhood and all its complexities, & minority representations of all kinds. As a mom, I try to live by example and build a better world for my children to live in.

This blog is a roundup of my life & career. My most popular blog post series are my birthday reflections, published circa July 28th every year. If you find me via my Vietcetera podcast, you might find my podcast page useful where I list all my other podcast appearances.

Thanks for following along my little corner of the internet 💛✨
